$ bind '"\e.":"\e>\e_"' $ : 1 $ : 2 $ : 3 $ : 4 $ >> I want now typing ^R 2 ^E M-. to put a 4 at the end of the line... ...and not wipe out the 2, which is what the above bind did. BASH_VERSION='3.1.17(1)-release'
