I know it is, but since I have some servers running in OpenVZ containers, I 
cannot just blindly upgrade to jessie (SystemD doesn't play very nice with 
OpenVZ), and apparently Bash isn't backported (yet) to Wheezy, so the only 
remaining option would be to recompile and reinstall Bash from source.

Personally, I'm fine with compiling my own packages, but I have to keep in mind 
that other people might someday use my library (I've already written 3-4 
completion functions for some commands with it, and I expect to write more), 
and I'd like to make it easy for them to use it too.

Anyway, I hope I can convince the Debian maintainers to accept my plea, but if 
they don't I'll just write some kind of workaround, as suggested by Eduardo.

Thanks a lot for your time, I'll now take my business to the Debian team and 
won't be bothering you anymore :-D
