I had to use these exact same environment variables, otherwise the out
of bounds read wouldn't happen. I'm not sure if it might depend on the
terminal size or another variable that might make this hard to
reproduce.

I'll try with a few more crashing inputs to see if I can find a better
test case. I should probably also start writing down my locale, glibc
version, TERM, compiler flags and other variables that might help in
the reproduction.
