I can compile this package using the current CVS binutils:

address@hidden:~/s3270-3.3$ ld --version
GNU ld version 2.15.94 20041205

I was also able to build it using a version from early August.  I see you're
using a non-FSF binutils release; perhaps it contains a patch that triggers this
internal error?
