Architecture: sun4
>Description:
I have a cvs server installed on a red hat linux box (Red hat 6.2).
Linux supports user passwords in excess of 8 characters, and my
password was 12. I could not log into the cvs server from a Solaris
client (1.10.8), although I could log in from an NT client (1.10.5),
and a Linux client (1.11). After reducing my password to 8 characters,
I could login from all clients.
>How-To-Repeat:
Install cvs on a linux box as a server, and try to login (pserver) from a
Solaris box (2.7), with a password of 9 or more characters for the account
on the linux box.
>Fix:
Reduce the password on the linux box(cvs server) to 8 characters or less.
- cvs client sends 8-character passwords.,
