A followup to the mail I sent you last night.

The bug involved getting an 'ignoring <dir> (CVS/Repository missing)'
error when doing a remote update with cvs (where nothing was actually
missing).

It seems that the problem occurs when the cvs executable on the remote
machine is setuid. We decided to make the cvs executable owned by a cvs
user and setuid so that individuals would be unable to make changes to
the cvs tree without using a cvs command.

If we restore the permissions to:

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 513100 Nov 25 12:23 cvs

the update seems to work.

This is a solution which is acceptable for now, but it would be nice to
be able to use a setuid cvs executable in the future.

Thanks,
