I am a member of the author team for a book on eclipse (www.eclipse.org)
that will be published by Addison Wesley in May. There is a chapter devoted
to support of CVS by the eclipse platform. Currently, the image associated
with the chapter title is the logo on the cvshome.org page as derived in
the attached file. The publisher needs to know if it can be reused for this
purpose or are there restrictions on its use. Thank you.

I believe all the information on cvshome.org is in the public domain and unless stated otherwise is distributed under the GNU General Public License and copyright (c) cvshome.org where applicable and its respective creators where not otherwise noted.

There are likely some exceptions, including the SourceCast user help written by CollabNet, but distributing the CVS logo should be fine, especially as the page which displays them includes encouragement to use them. The logos were actually created by somebody at OpenAvenue (I'm not sure who) before the cvshome.org domain and all the content therein was transferred to CollabNet, but I believe by virtue of the posting, the request to use the logos, and the lack of an explicit copyright notice makes it okay, legally, to use the logos.

Of course, I'm not a lawyer, so you might want to ask one.

DISCLAIMER: I really don't know what the legalities are in a matter like this and am not attempting to appear to. I am just providing information I believe to be true and am not attempting to represent it as legal advice. I, cvshome.org, and CollabNet will not be held responsible for damages incurred due to the use of this information.
