-D update option

I'm trying to use the -D date option to update my directory, and
the option doesn't seem to work for the year 2000 and beyond
(Y2K bug?).  I am using CVS version  1.11.1p1 on a Unix
workstation
(SGI).

Is this a known problem?  Is it corrected in later versions?
