Right.  We don't want that.
What I was suggesting was just to change the "magic branch detect logic"
rather than the content of the RCS file (the only part of the content which
we might change is the default branch, although I'm not sure how it relates
to the magic branch).  This way, it should be "obviously safe".

Leave them as they are.  They indicate that there's been activity on
the trunk already, so the user shouldn't be surprised if the magic branch
doesn't work.
