True, but I didn't look at how long the tested string was. I thought perhaps the SunOS max length was tested exactly, but it looks like someone just decided to test a fairly arbitrary looking 3392 characters. The string Paul reported wasn't so long, you are correct.

Did Paul encounter this on AIX as well?
