Use `configure --without-gssapi' before you build.
OS X ships with the GSSAPI headers which configure autodetects and not
the libraries, confusing the CVS build process. Solaris has the same
problem.
If you have the time to submit a patch that disable GSSAPI when it isn't
found and it wasn't specifically requested by the user, that'd be great too!
