I hacked "lib/md5.h" to get a compile to finish only to discover:
H:\Conrad\Projects\cvs-1.12\WinDebug>cvs version

Server: Assertion failed: buf->flush != NULL, file
H:\Conrad\Projects\cvs-1.12\src\buffer.c, line 348
