cvs server aborted when checking out a large file

The cvs server is running on Red Hat Linux7.1. CVS
version is 1.11

I tried two clients.

1. CVS v1.11.1p1 running on solaris machine
2. WinCVS (CVSNT 2.0.8) based on 1.3.13.2 beta13

After I imported a module which contains several large
data file in plain text format, I can not checkout a
file of 45MB.  I would received message such as "cvs
[server aborted]: received termination signal".

Does anyone know there is fix for this kind of bug? Or
how can I get around this problem? I am stuck with
this file now. I can not even delete this file.
