I've committed something like this patch to stable. I'm not inclined
to fix the "bug" as it is really a well-documented "feature" <grin/>.
Search for "no such tag" in the "Error messages" section of the
Cederqvist for more information.

In all seriousness, this problem was fixed in feature prior to the
1.12.10 release. I think this is sufficient given the well-known and
documented nature of the original bug/feature and the high hopes I
have for blessing 1.12.x as a new stable branch within the next few
months. I have, however, added the (now passing) modules7 test and
updated the "no such tag" documentation on feature.

Incidentally, this new test case may have been overkill. I cam across
the old test for the failed checkout while I was reworking the
documentation. If anyone feels like reviewing the matter, please
search sanity.sh for "no such tag". I don't have time just now and
too many tests is better than not enough.

Cheers,

Derek
