Disregard the above.  I committed a fix to "src/buffer.h" file.

I committed fixes to Visual C 6.0 project files for the changes
made recently but we have one remaining problem.  Windows does
not implement "fchdir" function.  I didn't see an implementation
in the GNULIB source archive.  I'll start a thread with GNULIB
project and let's see where that goes.
