I'm still quite confused about how the wide character stuff is being
resolved for you.  I may have to go dig out my visual studio 6 CDs and
install it just to see if that fixes it, although I don't see how it can
since the entry points don't seem to be in the MS C runtime dlls that
are distributed with windows.....
