Thanks for the report.
Please report the version of the tool next time, and
the type of system you're using. In this case, I'm pretty sure
you're using an old version of mv. The problem you've reported
was fixed some time ago.
Use `mv --version' to see what version you're using.
The latest is from fileutils-4.1:
