OK, who's the j**koff who made compiling C programs come up with a mess of
reverse video escape sequences (^]33 whatever) ("helpful error highlighting")
right there in the innocent *compilation* buffer here on Mandrake 7.2?
The temporary fix for me is putting a TERM=dumb before the minibuffer
default make -k command.
