Agreed.

It was a flame.  Turned out to be a non-bug.

Agreed.  My point is that I posted a question, replied no answer
via email, didn't know my question was actually posted on
gnu.emacs.bug where someone replied to it, posted the question
again because I thought I had had no reply the first time.

Had the bug reporting message been clearer, I would have known to
look for replies in gnu.emacs.bug via dejanews (which worked well
at the time).
