XEmacs seems to always ask if you want to *recursively* delete the
directory (unless you set dired-no-confirm properly). Perhaps the
Direds should be joined up...? ;-)

Hmmm. XEmacs Dired allows you to set dired-no-confirm to a list of
dired operations that don't need to be confirmed (recursive-delete is
just one of many) which gives most of the above. However, XEmacs
Dired doesn't seem to have:
* 'no' -- never allow an operation that should normally be confirmed.
* 'ask' -- ask about each and every subdir in recursive-delete.
