When we hit C-x s, it asks
Save file /tmp/a? (y, n, !, ., q, C-r or C-h)
However, "?" is not in that list, though it is a valid choice.
BTW, when we hit "?", we see
^R to display the current buffer;
Don't you want to say C-r?
Maybe grep thru all the emacs docs and sources for any "^" style
notations of control chars, and change them to "C-".
