In M-x shell, would you believe the only way to break out of this is
C-q C-c RET. C-c C-c, C-g etc. don't work, and C-c C-d just asks the
next file:
bash-2.05b$ rm -r /tmp/ji/
rm: remove write-protected regular file `/tmp/jid/a'?
emacs version as in my headers.
