By the way, does any of you think it would be bad if Automake
did warn when @LIBOBJS@ is used outside the directory specified
with AC_CONFIG_LIBOBJ_DIR? I made a patch for this one year
ago, but never dared to apply it. This diagnostic would help
people that mistakenly add @LIBOBJS@ to their program_LDADD
although the libobjs files and programs are in separate
directories. However it would prevent the aforementioned
(dubious?) use @LIBOBJS@ in two directories.
