That is an interesting solution, this is the kind of solution I depicted
with shell scripts and networking filesystems, but I still think that 
something easy to package would also be beneficial for easy deployment using 
the packaging utilities. These utilities exists and do their job well, why
not use them?

Anyway it's free software so if somebody wants to add a configure.ac, a
Makefile.am and tweak the scripts, he is free to do it...
