Yes. While some mailers allow the user to "view" or "open" an attachment
independently of the MIME Content-Type, for people who read this list at
  http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.lib.gnulib.bugs/
it is not good if a patch attachment is marked as
  Content-Type: application/mbox
Better use
  Content-Type: text/plain
