Looks pretty much like one of the glibc memchr bugs that were recently fixed:
<http://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=10162>
So, it was a good move to un-obsolete the 'memchr' module. But now we also need
to extend the m4/memchr.m4 test.
