Hi, I'm trying to use Paje on top of GNUstep on Linux. I'm a novice about GNUstep and Paje ...
hm, what's Paje ? (snip)
and I'm using GNUstep in remote from either a PC/Linux or an Xterminal. On the PC/Linux, I'm been able to see Paje running !But, from my NCD Xterminal, it never appears, my Xterminal becomes veryslow, and I get the following message: Xlib: extension "MIT-SHM" missing on display "txgia2:0.0".2004-08-20 08:59:55.245 Paje[3299] WARNING - XGServer is unable to usea fast al gorithm for writing to the display on this host - perhaps you'd like to adjust t he code to work ... and submit a patch Any idea ?
Well, if that works with the PC/Linux, that's probably just a X11 problem.
You could try to set the default to explicitely remove the shm use: defaults write NSGlobalDomain XWindowBufferUseXShm NOnormally, the lack of SHM support should be detected automatically, but there
is perhaps a problem with the X11 implementation of the NCD or with the detecting code on the GNUstep side. -- Nicolas Roard
