terminal.app fails also on 8-bit vnc4server with "Unrecognized color masks"

Since it takes only a minute, I test it on 8bit display.
vncserver :2 -depth 8 -geometry 1152x864 -dpi 72

There is a different error message.

$ Terminal

the most likely reason being the StandardColormap RGB_BEST_MAP has not 
been installed.
