Follow-up Comment #1:
I think Ubuntu's bug tracker is where this bug should stay ... there's
nothing to suggest that this is a gnustep bug (it looks like a problem with
the ubuntu build system) and it is also very out of date ... 6 months ago, so
even if there's some bad interaction between the ubuntu build system and
gnustep-base, it's an old release of gnustep-base.
Even if the problem is real on the current gnustep-base release (ie the build
is reproducibly slow), this would require ubuntu people to look at why their
build environment was so slow (eg compiler issues), though we would of course
help if they can provide anything concrete to look at.
