hy, I have installed today grub for first time :) I have read a lot of documentation but i can not argue if this is a bug or misconfiguration. ------------------------ /dev/hda1 = /boot /dev/hda2 = /root # grub --version grub (GNU GRUB 0.97) # cat /boot/grub/menu.lst title skp root (hd0,0) kernel /my-2.6.10c root=/dev/hda2 # grub-install --root-directory=/boot /dev/hda The file /boot/boot/grub/stage1 not read correctly. Or even by the shell: grub> root (hd0,0) Filesystem type is jfs, partition type 0x83 grub> setup (hd0) Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... no Checking if "/grub/stage1" exists... no Error 24: Attempt to access block outside partition The same with: grub> root (hd0,1) grub> install /grub/stage1 d (hd0) /grub/stage2 p /grub/menu.lst Error 24: Attempt to access block outside partition ----------- can you help me? tnx. -- >here are more things in heaven and earth, horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy. |
