    OK, you simply do not target the same people as I though GNU
    Hello should target.  

Whom did you have in mind?

I was envisioning a minimal example package for maintainers, showing the
best practices for infrastructure setup.  I think that is *plenty* big
enough for newcomers to get a handle on, and even for experienced
maintainers to refer to.

If someone wants to make more complex hello,world's for swig or
whatever, then they're welcome to do that, as a separate package.
I don't have the knowledge or desire to deal with anything but C.
