Roland harmless? No way!  But please don't leave a good point unmentioned
because of the experience of other people involved in the discussion.

You can redirect the messages to /dev/null when setting the translator.
(For passive translators, you have to set "/bin/sh /hurd/... > /dev/null 2>&1"
as the translator, IIRC).
