So what is the TERM setting when you run the ncurses client, and what TERM
setting is actually needed in the terminal you are running the telnet
session in?  Which size does the terminal have you run telnet in?  xterm and
the like sometimes default to 80x24, so you have to resize it to make it fit
80x25 exactly (so far).

It certainly doesn't for me.

What does your environment say about LINES and COLUMNS?
