Hi Thomas,
hello,

my part of the SiS900 story started with the patch contributed by
Gaƫl Le Mignot and Manuel Menal (ported from Linux 2.4) in:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-hurd/2004/05/msg00079.html

I tried it, but sometimes my NIC wasn't detected correctly. Exploring the
reason for that lead to the changes described in:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-hurd/2005/03/msg00245.html

If I remember it correctly, I compared the part of the driver which
sometimes failed with the linux-2.6 driver. For the code in question I
plugged in the newer one and since then the detection problem disappeared.

I'm not an expert and therefore can't comment on the changes. But if you
need someone to test your code I can try to find some time to do that.

Best regards,

        Andi
