Roland, many thanks for the helpful hints! I'll make sure to get them
archived at a proper place in our documentation.
However, as I'm currently much more short on time than on computing
power, I decided to do the following: I re-built from the same glibc 2.5
sources, but again passed the already known ``libc_cv_z_relro=no'' to
`configure', installed the built libraries into the subhurd image et
voil??: it booted. So in three days I hope to have some time to spend for
tracking down the relro problem, using your hints.
