No. I have tested the K16 with networking.

The networking was working, so I have also tested it on K16.  It just doesn't work anymore and I don't understand why, since I don't think I've changed anything recently.

Why do you need to specify -net nic, model? I have never passed any
-net parameters when used with qemu.

Neither did tschwinge, but apparently Ubuntu uses a default NIC that the Hurd doesn't detect.  tschwinge recommended that I specify the NIC, and it was detected.

I spoke with youpi and andrei on IRC for a while and they gave me a few suggestions to see what the problem was.  They concluded that it was something to do with my qemu configuration on my system.  I run Ubuntu 7.10 and home and Ubuntu 7.10 AMD64 at work and had identical problems.  Switching to kvm, which I assume has different configuration settings fixed the problem.

Thanks,
Josh
