GNOME has been arguing about which of the three obvious contenders should be used for quite a few months now.  Elijah Newren made a useful set of comparisons:

My feeling is that it's best on this point if everyone agrees to argue for a short time, like a week, and try to reach consensus at the end of it.  Otherwise we'll go on for ever and get nowhere.
