Is there another patch for glibc-2.7 to fix this or, even better, a
patch-set for a newer glibc version?

You can peek debian's patchset.

Thanks. I guess this is an answer for the latter part of that question, as I can not find a patch to fix the issue with hurd+glibc-2.7 that I had.

I am now using some additional patches from Debian for glibc 2.7 (that are not on Thomas' webpage) in order to get coreutils building. I also previously attempted a quick glibc-2.10 build using Debian patches but failed. I had not looked further into fixing that as glibc-2.7 seems the newest package someone has successfully cross compiled for GNU that I could find.

Thanks,
Allan
