No problem's from me. My rule of thumb (on a development branch) is that if
someone submits a sensible looking report with a fix, and the full test suite
still passes for me with the fix applied, I tend to apply it (pending
paperwork for the FSF if necessary).

I plan to make another pass over bare $var at some point, and add double
quotes and/or leading 'x's as necessary at some point before 1.5 is unleashed.
