One of the problems of solaris8 is that its 'ld'
doesn't initialize the global objects of libcwd.
We just reach main, without any initialization.
As broken as on any other OS I tried so far :/
Or you could blame libtool maybe(?), in which
case I bet that NO developer of libtool ever
uses C++.
