You could rerun
make check VERBOSE=X TESTS="tagdemo-static.test tagdemo-make.test \
tagdemo-exec.test tagdemo-conf.test tagdemo-make.test \
tagdemo-exec.test tagdemo-shared.test tagdemo-make.test \
tagdemo-exec.test"
to find out more. I hope that I've fixed this with a patch on
2006-02-03 (which was after 1.5.22), but it'd be nice to know for sure.
If you have Autoconf and Automake installed, you can apply that change
(or try current CVS branch-1-5), rerun ./bootstrap and try those tests
again.

config.status would not have been necessary, config.log is fine.

This seems a bit long to me for the configure step. How old is the
hardware you're running this on?
