mdemo-dryrun.test fails

Hello,

I try to build libtool-2.2.6b in a VPATH build as

../libtool-2.2.6b/configure --prefix=/data/johanssp/local
make
make check

in which mdemo-dryrun.test fails. I have attached the gzipped output from

make check TESTS=tests/mdemo-dryrun.test VERBOSE=1 &> mdemo-dryrun.test.fail

The end of `./libtool --help' displays:

host-triplet: i686-pc-linux-gnu
shell: /bin/sh
compiler: gcc
compiler flags: -g -O2
