Oh, the code paths are quite different between GCC and non-GCC
compilers, so I wouldn't try to compare that too much.

Again, any chance you can bisect this (e.g., by trying out commit v2.2.8
and if that one works, start a bisect with origin/master as bad and
v2.2.8 as good)?
