pdf file sizes 2.5 vs 2.4

I'm not sure if this is too nebulous to be counted a bug but here are
some representative pdf sizes from the examples.html pages of 2.5.10
and 2.4.2

Also the names of some of these charts are corrupted in

Saengers Morgenlied and les nereides suffer the most.
