Congratulations on Lilypond! I've just started with 2.6.0 on OS X, and
am now the proud possessor of some music for my young son, who is just
starting piano and wants to play Star Wars themes!
Two suggestions
1. Autosave on typeset
The editor should autosave before typesetting
2. Preview does not update the pdf file if its already open.
I guess you know about these anyway, but mostly I wanted to say how
delighted I am with it. What an amazing piece of work.
My interest in it is partly because a colleague wants to experiment with
turning protein sequences into music, and a system that accepted text
input seemed ideal...
Oh - I am one of the people who contributes to a FAQ on text editors
http://fmwww.bc.edu/repec/bocode/t/textEditors.html
It reviews text editors (not comprehensive, but that's the strength:
people who like a particular text editor enough to write about it are
worth hearing from). It might be a useful link, especially the bits that
discuss what the difference is between a word processor and a text
editor and the kinds of things a text editor can do for you.
Best wishes, and thank you for all the work!
