lilypond-2.6.3 : tiring rpmbuild

On Mandriva LE2005

Being unsatisfied with the autopackaging of LilyPond (no emacs-mode, no doc), I
tried to build my rpm as usual. Building a 2.4.6 takes about 3 hours with all 
the fonts stuff), but my spec files did not fit the 2.6.x.

I picked up a source on the free.fr mirror and expected a good rpm building.
Having nobody at home, I opened the spec-file with emacs and launched
the process at 08:15. Wanting to go to bed, I killed it at 23:28 as it was
compiling /Documentation/instrument-notation.itely at line 2878 only.

Is there something wrong with my computer (might be too old with its P-III 450
and 128 Mo RAM) or ...?

For any further investigation, full configure.log and rpm build log through
emacs are available upon request.
