3/4 beaming

Following up to my last post, two examples:

Beethoven's 8th symphony, 3rd movement, lots of 3/4 measures with quaver groups ending on the beat - in no case is the final quaver part of the beam (even when it's 5 quavers and rest).

Dvorak's 9th symphony, 3rd movement, 2nd theme in the WW's...

c4 |c4. c8 e r | e4. e8 g r | g2.

etc.

This would look very odd if the quavers were beamed, as lilypond does by default.

The rule for 4/4 is a bit more complicated - seems like it's ok if a beamed quaver group ends on the 4th crotchet beat *only* if there was a note or rest that occurred at the start of the 3rd beat. If a note straddles the 3rd beat (e.g. a dotted crotchet starting on the 2nd beat), then any beam group after this mustn't end on the 4th beat.
