Are there some instructions how to use gdb with lilypond? Or do you use different means for debugging? A small document for this would be great.
I reduce the .ly file to case where there is only one instance of the problem (one TieColumn, or one broken alignment), and then set a breakpoint in the right function. Of course, the latter requires some knowledge of what is computed where.
