I don't think it really matters for docs -- at least, not when
we're doing a huge rewrite like GDP.  And the less I have to fuss
with git, the better.  I've picked up enough to treat it like cvs,
and that's all I want.  If I work on some other project in the
future that uses git, I'll learn more then.
