Ah, are you sure you applied the path to absolutely latest git master? Before yesterday noon (commit dd5394bdc93f9da491a778782bdeb6e0236d4e9a), master had a but in the replace_all routine, so that replace_all(&str, "\"","\\\"") would go into an endless loop (since lilypond would try to replace the " of the just-inserted \" again, which again inserted a ", which lilypond tried to replace again, etc.

I was using the latest version on rietveld as that looked like it was being updated.
I've just done a git merge HEAD origin/master and it no longer hangs.
Also all combinations of quoted and accented characters work.

Looks like tracker 832's fixed.

Sorry for the noise, but at least I found out how to build my own image. . .
